Recently, the software survey was carried out by StartupLab of the University of Jyväskylä in cooperation with the University of Helsinki, University of Vaasa, Software E-Business Finland, and Teknologiateollisuus ry. This survey explains the current state and prospects for the future of companies operating in the Finnish software industry. Research Assistant, Anssi Sorvisto was responsible for implementing the software company survey at the University of Jyväskylä.
The software survey highlights the problems stunting the growth of the software industry in Finland. One of the significant challenges Finnish companies face is the need for a larger workforce of skilled employees. Dues to a shortage of domestic talent, many companies think the best way to thrive is by hiring foreign talent. Although at this point, internationalization seems like a daunting challenge for smaller software companies.
